Rodin TruModel
Pac-Dent manufactures a very popular and comprehensive range of resins that are accessible across a wide range of printers. Its latest venture is tackling the already saturated dental model market.
Every man and his donkey has a dental study model for sale. So what separates this dental model from the scores of others in the global market?

Uses:
Printing of models – study models, diagnostic wax up models, models to be thermoformed onto, etc.
Where can you print it:
Multiple open system 3D printer brands – Ackuretta, Asiga, Dentafab, Phrozen, Shining 3D, etc.

The low down:
2026 has heralded in a Golden Age of dental study models with several brands releasing new options for the dental model market. TruModel performs well – it prints predictably and consistently across a range of systems. TruModel comes in 3 different variants – Sand, Prime and Gray. Beyond that, it’s frankly hard to differentiate any defining features in most high-end dental model resins. It’s odour-free, dimensionally stable, resistant enough to heat and pressure. It prints well on the Ackuretta SOL SE – study models in less than half an hour. They just pop right off the build plate. Really the real kicker is the pricing – depending on your global distribution chain, it’s around US$99 for a kilo. Crazy price for what you get. You can even stock up on 4kg bottles for that extra saving. Yummy.

Points to note:
Just choose the shade/variant you want and start printing. For those users who really want to save and get the 4kg bottles, just keep in mind that you have to mix this resin well before use and mixing a 4kg bottle is no fun. The 1kg bottles are still my go-to for this very reason.

TLDR:
Rodin TruModel is an affordable and cost-effective dental model resin that prints just as well as some of its more expensive competitors.
